چکیده

ICIE16 and 13-93 bioactive glasses have been proposed as alternative chemically stable compositions in physiological fluid keeping bioactivity comparable to Bioglass®. coatings were produced via an emerging suspension high-velocity oxy-fuel (SHVOF) thermal spraying technique. Suspensions of with 10 wt% solid loading isopropanol (IPA) water used produce on AISI304 stainless steel using a flame power 50 kW 75 kW. For both glass formulations, the deposited at lower more porous, less hard, rough (~6% porous 242 HV) than obtained higher (~4% porosity 300 HV). showed dissolution SBF (simulated body fluid) coatings. Moreover, coating sprayed highest stability since only 2% was resorbed after 7 days immersion revealed apatite precipitation days. In-vitro cell tests, MG63 cells, good attachment proliferation surfaces coatings, revealing cytocompatibility. The incubation. This can be attributed surface roughness (Ra = 6.5 ± 0.6 ?m).

Characterization of hydroxyapatiteynano-zirconia composite coatings deposited by high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spray process

Hydroxyapatite (HA)ynano-zirconia composite coatings were successfully produced through high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying of radio frequency (RF) plasma synthesized powders. Microstructure characterization and morphology analysis on the nano-structured coatings were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and d...

Apatite-forming ability of bioactive poly(l-lactic acid)/grafted silica nanocomposites in simulated body fluid.

Bioactive PLLA/surface-grafted silica (g-SiO₂) nanocomposite scaffolds were fabricated by solid-liquid phase separation method. And solid PLLA/g-SiO₂ nanocomposite films were prepared by solution casting method. A series of parallel tube-like morphology and internal ladder-like structure of PLLA/g-SiO₂ nanocomposite scaffolds were observed by SEM. The formation of bone-like apatite in the simul...

Production of Ni65Cr15P16B4 Metallic Glass-Coated Bipolar Plate for Fuel Cell by High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) Spray Coating Method

In this study, the newly designed bipolar plate for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) was produced by spray-coating the Ni65Cr15P16B4 metallic glassy alloy on Al plate. The Ni65Cr15P16B4 metallic glass was adopted as a coating material because of its excellent corrosion resistance and the high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spray coating was used for the metallic glass deposition on the Al ...

Processing and Characterisation of High-velocity Suspension Flame Sprayed (hvsfs) Bioactive Glass Coatings

The High-Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS) technique was employed in order to deposit bioactive glass coatings onto titanium substrates. Two different glass compositions were examined: the classical 45S5 Bioglass and a newly-developed SiO2–CaO–K2O–P2O5 glass, labelled as “Bio-K”. Suitable raw materials were melted in a furnace and fritted by casting into water. The frit was dry-milled ...

Fluoride-containing bioactive glasses: effect of glass design and structure on degradation, pH and apatite formation in simulated body fluid.

Bioactive glasses are able to bond to bone through formation of carbonated hydroxyapatite in body fluids, and fluoride-releasing bioactive glasses are of interest for both orthopaedic and, in particular, dental applications for caries inhibition. Melt-derived glasses in the system SiO(2)-P(2)O(5)-CaO-Na(2)O with increasing amounts of CaF(2) were prepared by keeping network connectivity and the ...
